Posted January 8, 2022. The main issue I can see with current scav violence penalties is that it's mainly a small, cumulative long-term penalty (reputation), with no substantial short-term penalty. The solution is to keep the reputation penalty as a long-term punishment for repeat offenders, but also add an immediate scav cooldown penalty.

its a bit more fluid than that i believe, but mostly yes, you start getting better and better guns, armor, bigger backpacks, extra loot you start with, even keycards. Those with best karma have about a 6 min cooldown. Those with worst karma have about a 2 hour cooldown. Plus the scav loadout is better the better karma you have, or at least the chance for better loadout is higher.
