The one area behind the engine where one of the jack pads could span the frame without hitting anything protruding below the frame measured about 14 inches across. The length of the jack pads was about 12 and 7/8".The bad point with the Craftsman jack is it will not go quite low enough to get under the bike so i foungd i pull the front tire onto a piece of 2x8 that is about a foot long. The jack slided right under with clearance to spare. problem fixed. other than that the jack was well worth the $110.00 or so that i paid.The FIX, add a ounce or less of ATF or motor oil to the jack. To effectively do this you need to hold the jack up by the end with the FIXED wheels. Then remove the smaller of the 2 plugs in the bottle jack and add a very small amount of oil.
